We offer an Allergy Skin Testing Service for patients.
Patients will be seen by the Consultant Dermatologist who will arrange the appropriate allergy testing appointment. Patients will be asked to complete an allergy questionnaire and a member of the nursing staff will administer the skin allergy tests. These will cover common pollen, dust mites, animal, food and fungal spore allergens.
A report will be written by the consultant, based on the test results and the questionnaire. The report will be sent direct to the patient’s GP or referring Consultant.

The Audiologist based in the Hospital has many years experience of identifying hearing loss in both adults and children and offer a wide range of solutions to all hearing problem. The Audiologist provides hearing tests to determine whether or not someone can hear within the normal range. If not the audiologist will determine which portions of hearing (high, middle, or low frequencies) are affected and to what degree. If a hearing loss is detected advice will be offered to the patient as to what options (e.g. hearing aids, cochlear implants, surgery, appropriate medical referrals) may be of assistance

An Electroencephalogram (EEG) records electrical activity of your brain using special sensors (electrodes) that are attached to your scalp and connected to a computer. Certain conditions, such as epilepsy, can be seen by changes in the normal pattern of the brain's electrical activity. Both waking and sleep deprived EEGs can be performed.

Our dedicated Endoscopy Suite is located on the second floor of the hospital. We perform procedures under local anaesthetic or sedation.
Patients arriving at our facility always receive personal, friendly and efficient service. We strive to minimize the time and inevitable anxiety associated with endoscopy investigations, while making sure that we maintain our high standards of individual attention, thoroughness, and quality.
Our skilled and dedicated nursing staff and support staff provide outstanding care for the patient and technical support to the Consultant ensuring the highest standards of care and safety.
After procedures are completed, patients are returned to the recovery area where light refreshments are offered and test results are explained by the Consultant.

Barringtons Hospital offers a wide range of high quality Imaging services which include: Plain Radiography (X-Ray), CT scans and OPG’s(panoramic dental x-rays).
Appointments are made by GP/Consultant referral only.
A Walk in service for X-Rays and OPG x-rays is provided Monday to Friday between 9am – 5.30pm, provided the patient has a referral letter. However it is advised that you ring ahead to avoid disappointment.
This service is performed by our radiographers and reported on by a Consultant Radiologist. Reports are issued to referring GP / Consultant within 48hours.

The Phlebotomy (Blood Tests) Department operates a walk-in service for all routine blood tests. Personalised profiles can be arranged to suit the individual Client, (Consultant, GP, alternative therapists, Clinic’s etc).

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is surgery to correct a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. We offer an Orthopantomogram (OPG) Service, also known as an "orthopantogram" or "panorex", which is a panoramic scanning dental X-ray of the upper and lower jaw. It shows a two-dimensional view of a half-circle from ear to ear.

The specialty includes a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions which vary from the complex inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and connective tissue disease, to degenerative joint disease and soft tissue disorders affecting muscle, tendon, ligament, bursa, intervertebral disc and meniscus.
The consultants also treat soft tissue rheumatic disorders brought on by exercise and hypermobility disorders.
